Privacy Policy

Version 2026-06-11

  1. What we collect. If you sign up or submit a form: your email address, the interests you select, and anything you type into a form (e.g., a measurement suggestion, organization name, office location, sponsorship level, in-kind offer). Nothing else is collected about you personally.
  2. Double opt-in. No email address is treated as subscribed until you click the confirmation link we send. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link that works indefinitely.
  3. How we use it. To send project updates you asked for, follow up on suggestions or sponsorship interest, and coordinate volunteering. We do not sell or share your information with third parties, except as below.
  4. Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site traffic; it sets cookies and is governed by Google's privacy policy.
  5. Payments. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers. Stripe sends us the payer's email and amount so we can connect a payment to a sponsorship.
  6. Newsletter. The GNHUSA newsletter is hosted on Substack; subscribing there is governed by Substack's terms. If you tick the newsletter-interest box with us, we record that interest and may pass your email to GNHUSA for that purpose.
  7. Storage. Records are stored on Amazon Web Services (US regions), with access limited to project administrators.
  8. Removal. Unsubscribe any time via the link in any email, or write to updates@wellbeingeffect.org to have your records deleted entirely.
  9. Research data. The wellbeing analyses on this site use aggregate, anonymous Google Trends data — they contain no individual-level information.
